Out-of-hours service for children

Are you looking for a paediatrician who offers appointments outside normal working hours? We can help!

The Centre Médical Eaux-Vives, together with the Société Genevoise de Pédiatrie (SPG) and the Réseau des Pédiatres Genevois (RPG), offers out-of-hours consultations for children aged 0 to 18 on weekday evenings, weekends and public holidays.

For non-vital urgences

The out-of-hours service for children deals with situations requiring rapid diagnosis and treatment, as is the case with most childhood illnesses and minor accidents:

  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Urinary tract infection
  • A slight fall
  • Itchy skin
  • Flu
  • Heat rash
  • Measles
  • Chickenpox
  • Whooping cough
  • Mumps
  • Rubella

This list is not exhaustive.

However, if you are worried about your child's symptoms and would like an initial opinion, you can also call the medical assistants on 0844 022 022 or +41 22 737 47 57 They will advise you and direct you to the most appropriate medical facility depending on where you live, the seriousness of your child's symptoms and the availability of paediatricians on call.

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please go directly to the paediatric emergency department of the Geneva Children's Hospital (HUG).

Opening hours

  • Every evening during the week from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Weekends and public holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Please note the new paediatric on-call hours, effective from 1 February 2026:

  • Every evening during the week from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturdays and public holidays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Location

The out-of-hours service for children organised by the Société Genevoise de Pédiatrie (SPG) and the Réseau des Pédiatres Genevois (RPG) allows you to make an appointment with a paediatrician on call at one of three sites in Geneva:

  • Left bank - Centre Médical Eaux-Vives, Av. de la Gare-des-Eaux-Vives 3
  • Right bank - Petit-Lancy paediatric ward
  • Centre- Hôpital de la Tour
