After completing his medical studies at the Universities of Lausanne and Zurich, Dr Besson specialised in radiology at the CHUV and the HUG.
Dr Besson worked as a senior registrar in radiology at the HUG in the oncology, thoracic and urology units, as well as in the geriatric unit at Trois-Chêne.
Following two years in orthopaedic surgery at the start of his postgraduate training, he completed his training with a fellowship in osteoarticular radiology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montréal, giving him solid experience in musculoskeletal disorders.
Building on this experience, he has developed considerable expertise in injection procedures and biopsies.
He has participated as a radiology expert in numerous tumour boards covering thoracic, urological, haematological-oncological and spinal cases.
