Angiology

Angiology is concerned with the blood vessels (arteries, veins), lymphatic vessels and the microcirculation (capillary vessels). It is used for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with venous disorders such as thrombosis and varicose veins, arterial disorders such as aneurysms and stenoses of the carotid (neck) arteries and diseases of the lymphatic vessels such as lymphoedema (accumulation of lymphatic fluid in the lower and/or upper extremities).
