Swiss Medical Network is considering the further development of its Lindberg site in Winterthur

The overarching aim is to ensure sustainable regional healthcare provision

Swiss Medical Network (SMN) is actively shaping the future of the Lindberg Private Clinic in Winterthur. As part of this development, SMN is, among other things, exploring the option of concentrating inpatient services at the Belair Private Clinic in Schaffhausen and the Bethanien Private Clinic in Zurich. These are sites with the necessary medical breadth and scale to ensure high-quality care. The aim is to enhance the quality of services and to improve the efficiency of the regional healthcare system in a targeted manner.

SMN is aware that any reorganisation may have an impact on staff at the Lindberg site. The company takes its responsibility in this regard seriously and has initiated the consultation procedure required by law. SMN expressly invites staff to submit suggestions on how redundancies can be avoided, their number limited and their consequences mitigated. SMN will only decide on the next steps after carefully reviewing all submissions.

Through this process, SMN aims to secure sustainable, needs-based healthcare provision in the region. The next steps will be designed in the interests of patients, employees and the entire healthcare system – with the aim of maintaining a high standard of care in the long term.

The Winterthur Cantonal Hospital (KSW) has expressed interest to SMN in leasing certain premises at the Lindberg site. KSW may offer acute geriatric care and palliative care there.
