Education

Dr Andrea Carcaterra, originally from Ticino, obtained a Bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Lugano before studying medicine at the University of Geneva from 2007 to 2013. After obtaining a postgraduate qualification in internal medicine, and due to a keen interest in the cardiovascular system, he began his cardiology training in 2018 at the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), obtaining the FMH qualification in cardiology. He subsequently worked as a Senior Registrar at the Hôpital de Neuchâtel and then at the HUG in Geneva.

Dr Carcaterra is interested in the diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of general cardiology, with a particular focus on preventing the development of cardiovascular disease. He holds European EACVI accreditation for transthoracic and transoesophageal ultrasound, as well as for pacemaker/defibrillator monitoring (EHRA).
