Journée Oser tous les Métiers 2023 at Clinique de Genolier

On the occasion of Journée Oser tous les Métiers, the Clinique de Genolier opened its doors to eight children of employees and doctors, aged 10 to 13. The young ones had the opportunity to delve into the daily lives of the numerous professionals who contribute to our hospital establishment.

The day started with a presentation of the Clinic, followed by the enthusiastic participation of our eight young guests in various workshops. From the importance of hand hygiene to the immersive experience of dressing as a surgeon, from applying plaster to delicately inserting catheters, not forgetting wound care, each moment was an exciting exploration into the world of healthcare professionals.

The afternoon was dedicated to visits to the radiology, radiotherapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy departments. The children had the opportunity to observe their own organs, accompanied by Dr. Kress-Boesh during an ultrasound revealing livers, kidneys, and even their hands. A discovery that prompted Arthur to humorously exclaim, 'Am I pregnant?' while contemplating the inside of his abdomen.

Following this exploration into human anatomy, the young ones released their energy in the physiotherapists' sports hall, testing their strength, balance, and dexterity. The spirit of competition was also put to the test during challenges. And as effort deserves comfort, a blind tasting awakened their taste buds with mystery ingredients selected by the chef, ranging from apple compote to almond financier, and even vegan cream cheese.

To top it all off, the chef had one final surprise for the children with two cakes, one classic and the other hiding a mystery ingredient: courgette. A recipe that surprisingly demonstrates how the gastronomic pleasure of a dessert can be expressed through the unsuspected ingredient of a vegetable!
