Millevoci Rete Uno - Dr.ssa med. Susanna Grego e Prof. Dr. med. Antonio Malgaroli

Anxiety and stress, two sides of the same coin

Emotions constitute one of the most pervasive and complex realities of our existence: they condition thoughts and actions, guide our behaviour and influence the way we reason, as well as all areas of our lives. Everything becomes complicated when anxiety disorders related to excessive stress arise: our emotions lose their physiological connotation, disturbing even significantly the communication between heart and brain that are in continuous 'dialogue' with each other.

If a person manifests stress-related anxiety, one must remember that these symptoms are very similar to those caused by a real cardiological problem, which it is therefore important to highlight or rule out: if the mind suffers, the heart also suffers, but the opposite is also true and one cannot attribute a symptom to one cause if one does not first check all the others.
