Swiss Medical Network becomes part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network
In May 2025, Swiss Medical Network became the first healthcare group in Western Europe to join the Mayo Clinic Care Network (MCCN). The collaboration encompasses seven clinics and centres in our network:
- Clinique de Genolier
- Privatklinik Bethanien, Zurich
- Clinica Sant’Anna, Lugano
- Swiss Visio centres in Genolier, Montchoisi, Zurich and Bellinzona
The MCCN is a global network of over 45 leading healthcare institutions that enables the exchange of evidence-based expertise with the Mayo Clinic.
Objectives of the collaboration
The cooperation with the Mayo Clinic pursues the following medical objectives:
- Access to internationally validated best practices and clinical standards
- Integration of advanced diagnostic and treatment recommendations
- Promotion of preventive medicine (e.g. check-up and executive health programmes)
- Support in complex clinical decisions
- Improvement of continuous medical training
Direct benefits for physicians
Specialists at affiliated institutions gain access to the following clinical resources:
- AskMayoExpert: Fast, evidence-based decision support system with over 1,800 clinical conditions, treatment algorithms and recommendations for action. Can be used directly at the point of care.
- eBoards (virtual case discussions): Participation in multidisciplinary video conferences with Mayo Clinic experts to discuss complex patient cases (e.g. oncology, rare diseases).
- Healthcare consulting: Access to strategic advice from the Mayo Clinic on medical, operational and process-related issues.
- Continuing education and training: Access to the Mayo Clinic medical library, structured learning resources, CME-eligible content and patient education materials.
