Welcome to Dr. med. Ottavio Bernasconi

Dr Bernasconi is joining our network as Medical Director for the Ticino region and will be practising at Swiss Visio Bellinzona.

After graduating in medicine from the University of Lausanne, Dr Bernasconi specialised in ophthalmology in 1996 and qualified as a specialist in ophthalmic surgery in 1999. He was Head of Clinic at Jules Gonin Eye Hospital in Lausanne, then Head of the Ophthalmology Department at the San Giovanni Regional Hospital in Bellinzona for over 25 years.

Thanks to his clinical experience and commitment to teaching and training, Dr Bernasconi will make a valuable contribution to our network, particularly in the development of ophtalmic surgery in Ticino.

Author of numerous scientific publications in the field of ophthalmology at national and international level, he also brings significant academic expertise to our team.
