Swiss Medical Network strengthens regional healthcare - launch of the Aare-Netz in the Mittelland region
Swiss Medical Network launches the third integrated care region in Switzerland with the new Aare-Netz on 1 September 2025.
Swiss Medical Network is further expanding its integrated care strategy. After the Jura Arc (Réseau de l'Arc) and Ticino (Rete Sant'Anna), the Aare-Netz is now the third care region in the Zofingen/Mittelland area.
The aim is to provide networked, coordinated and patient-centred healthcare. The Aare-Netz connects GPs, specialists, hospitals as well as rehabilitation and care facilities along a common treatment pathway.
Olivera Ceric, Director of Spital Zofingen, explains:
«In the Aare-Netz, we are creating a healthcare network that not only treats patients, but accompanies them. Close cooperation between all those involved is crucial, from primary care to specialised medicine.»
The management team consists of:
- Olivera Ceric, Director Spital Zofingen
- Alessandra Cavalli, Operational Director Xundheitszentren Mittelland
- Beatrice Gass, Director Privatklinik Villa im Park Rothrist
- Michael Schorn, Director VIVA-Aare-Netz
The partnership with Kantonsspital Aarau (KSA), which complements the Aare-Netz as a leading centre for specialised medicine, is particularly noteworthy. This creates a unique collaboration between a private and a public hospital, a model that sets new standards throughout Switzerland.
Dr. Markus Meier, CEO KSA, emphasises:
«The cooperation with Swiss Medical Network sustainably strengthens the medical quality and security of care for the population in the Zofingen area. The choice of the KSA as a reference hospital for specialised medicine underlines our role as a leading centre hospital in the Mittelland region.»
The expansion is taking place gradually and in close cooperation with local doctors, carers and public institutions. Dino Cauzza, CEO of Swiss Medical Network, thanks everyone involved for their commitment:
«Without their openness and willingness to work together, this step would not have been possible.»
