Swiss Medical Network is actively involved in Patient Safety Week 2025: «Patient Safety from the Start»

National Patient Safety Week will take place from 15 to 19 September 2025. Swiss Medical Network is once again taking part in this year's campaign under the motto «Patient Safety from the Start». The focus is on the importance of safe processes from the start of patient admission to the start of treatment or surgery.

As part of the nationwide initiative, Swiss Medical Network is focussing on consistent patient verification, the use and regular checking of patient wristbands and the structured recording of relevant medical history data. In addition, the completeness of documentation, safe handovers in the interprofessional team and the use of the surgical checklist are actively implemented and communicated.

These measures form the basis for reliable and safe patient care and are intended to sensitise both staff and patients to the importance of precise identification and control processes. Swiss Medical Network invites all employees to actively participate in the campaigns and information programmes in order to further strengthen patient safety.
