Entrepreneur du futur: «Introduction to Public Affairs» module
As part of our internal «Entrepreneur du futur» programme, our future managers spent a day in Bern exploring the Swiss political system and its links to our healthcare system.
Given the major challenges currently shaping our sector – demographic change, a shortage of healthcare professionals, cost control, medical innovation and digital transformation – it is essential that tomorrow’s leaders understand the political mechanisms that influence strategic decisions and the organisation of care.
The day provided an opportunity to engage with stakeholders who are particularly well-versed in these issues and to benefit from their advice: a cross-perspective between political actors and representatives of the healthcare system.
In particular, they had the opportunity to engage with:
- Lorenz Hess, National Councillor and member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Medical Network, who shared his perspective on political and legislative processes in the healthcare sector.
- Raymond Loretan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Medical Network, who shared his experience of Swiss politics and his perspective on the interplay between politics, the economy and healthcare.
- Esthelle Le Gallic de Kerizouët, CEO of VIVA Health Swiss, who presented the challenges and opportunities associated with integrated care models and the coordination of care pathways.
- Vincent Michellod, a member of the Executive Board, who shed light on the role of insurers and the challenges of healthcare system funding.
The discussions provided a deeper understanding of the various stakeholders in the healthcare system, their respective roles and their interactions within a constantly evolving environment.
A big thank you to all the speakers for their time, for sharing their experiences and for their commitment to the next generation.
