«Above the Summit»: Swiss Medical Network at the forefront of innovation in theranostics
Theranostics is redefining the standards of precision oncology — and Swiss Medical Network is fully committed to this field. A look back at the ‘Above the Summit’ symposium and what this means in practical terms for our patients in French-speaking Switzerland.
Recently, more than 100 international experts in molecular imaging and theranostics gathered at the Genolier Innovation Hub for the ‘Above the Summit’ symposium, organised in partnership with GE HealthCare.
These discussions highlighted an increasingly evident clinical reality: combining molecular diagnostics and targeted therapy within a single approach significantly improves therapeutic precision — whilst reducing the burden on patients.
At the Clinique de Genolier, this vision will soon become a reality. The Swiss Theranostics team, led by Dr Antoine Leimgruber, currently offers advanced molecular imaging services and, from this autumn, theranostic care for eligible patients — those with prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumours and other complex oncological conditions. This year, the clinic is also installing the world’s first commercial model of General Electric Healthcare’s ‘Total Body’ PET/CT scanner and ‘Starguide GX’ multi-detector SPECT tomography system. These scanners enable unrivalled detection of lesions throughout the body, with shorter scan times and radiation exposure comparable to that of conventional X-rays.
Swiss Medical Network firmly believes that access to innovation should not be a geographical privilege. We are investing to ensure that excellence in precision oncology is accessible in French-speaking Switzerland.
