Bärn-Netz: Swiss Medical Network is strengthening healthcare provision in the Bern region and launching its fourth integrated care network, VIVA
Genolier, 10 August 2026 – Swiss Medical Network is continuing to develop its integrated care model with Bärn-Netz in the Bern region. From 1 September 2026, this new network will bring together GPs, specialists, healthcare facilities and other partners to strengthen the coordination of care pathways and provide care that is tailored as closely as possible to patients’ needs.
Bringing expertise together
Following on from the Réseau de l’Arc, the Rete Sant’Anna and the Aare-Netz, the Bärn-Netz is the fourth regional integrated care network developed by Swiss Medical Network. It has been designed in close collaboration with doctors, healthcare staff and healthcare facilities in the region.
As in the three regions already operational, the model is based on two inseparable pillars: the coordination of care between network partners and an insurance product designed specifically for this organisation. In the Bern region, the Bärn-Netz is the only integrated care network to combine these two dimensions.
The region will commence operations on 1 September 2026. From 1 January 2027, the alternative insurance product VIVA will be offered there in partnership with Visana.

A network close to the community
At launch, the Bärn-Netz comprises nine GP practices and medical centres, bringing together a total of 28 doctors based in Ostermundigen, Ittigen, Bümpliz, Schönburg, Gümligen, Zollikofen and Münsingen. Thanks to the complementary expertise of its partners, the network will focus on primary care and coordinate the entire care pathway, from general practice to highly specialised medicine.
The Bärn-Netz also includes the Siloah-Verbund, which specialises in geriatrics, long-term care and Spitex services, as well as the Privatklinik Siloah in Gümligen, which focuses on orthopaedics and surgery, Swiss Visio Siloah and the Résidence Talgut.
In the long term, new partners will be gradually brought on board to expand the integrated care model across the Bern region. This will, in particular, enable the development of new solutions in geriatric medicine in the areas of prevention, the management of chronic conditions and ‘Hospital@Home’, in partnership with the Siloah-Verbund.

Management of Bärn-Netz
Bärn-Netz is managed by Florian Rossiaud-Fischer, Director of Ärztezentren Bern; Barbara Hager, Director of Privatklinik Siloah; and Sophia Scherschel, Deputy Director of Privatklinik Siloah. Supported by a medical steering committee, they will work closely with all the network’s partners to strengthen coordination between the various stakeholders, develop sustainable structures and promote a shared culture of integrated care within the network.
