Perinatology Symposium 2026: a day of dialogue and professional development at Clinica Sant'Anna
On 30 May 2026, Clinica Sant'Anna held its Perinatology Symposium, a full day of medical education focused on perinatal pathways and continuity of care from pregnancy through the neonatal period. The strong turnout of gynaecologists, paediatricians and midwives confirmed once again the interest of the Ticino medical community in structured, high-quality professional development.
The programme, organised across two sessions throughout the day, covered topics of significant clinical relevance: from the management of intrauterine growth restriction to RSV bronchiolitis prevention strategies, from the diagnosis and treatment of CMV infection in pregnancy to the latest developments in gestational diabetes, through to neonatal endocrinological follow-up. A deliberately cross-disciplinary journey, designed to bring gynaecology, paediatrics and neonatology into dialogue around the mother and newborn, with a perspective that spans the entire perinatal arc.
One of the defining features of the 2026 edition was the participation of external speakers from leading national institutions — including the Inselspital in Bern, the EOC and USI in Lugano — who brought up-to-date perspectives and findings from the latest research. An open and stimulating exchange with Clinica Sant'Anna's own professionals, which highlighted the value of collaboration between private, academic and public hospital medicine in the shared interest of maternal and infant health. Because in medicine, choosing to work together makes all the difference.
A sincere thank you to the sponsors who made this event possible: IBSA, MSD, Pierre Fabre, Permamed, Sanofi and Sonic Suisse.
