«The Swiss healthcare system has all the makings of a thriller.» Kristian Schneider, deputy director of the Federal Office of Public Health, uses cinematic language to describe a healthcare system grappling with rising costs, often conflicting interests and a level of quality that is difficult to measure. A particularly apt metaphor in Locarno, where the fifth Symposium on Sustainable Healthcare, organised by Swiss Medical Network at the PalaCinema in collaboration with the Pardo, brought together representatives from the fields of medicine, research and institutions to examine the state of health of the Swiss system.
