The Centre du Sein SMN has successfully renewed its national certification!
The Centre du Sein SMN Suisse Romande, which includes the Clinique de Genolier and the Clinique Générale-Beaulieu in Geneva has just successfully obtained the renewal of its national certification by the Swiss League against Cancer and the Swiss Society of Senology.
National certification
Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in women in Switzerland. Diagnosed in more than 6'000 women (and 50 men!) each year, this pathology manifests itself in different ways and thus implies a multidisciplinary care.
The treatment of the patients concerned in specialized centers has largely proved its worth. Indeed, working in specialized multidisciplinary teams allows to propose an optimal treatment, taking into account international standards and medical advances, with the result that the mortality rate is reduced.
The Swiss Cancer League and the Swiss Society of Senology have established a total of 70 quality criteria that define the framework conditions for certified breast centers. These criteria concern in particular the competence of the specialists, the respect of the recommendations of good practice, the integration of support care and the respect of the time limits of the treatment.
The Centre du Sein SMN Suisse Romande, which includes the Clinique de Genolier and the Clinique Générale-Beaulieu, has thus obtained this certification for the third consecutive time, for a period of four years. After a two-day audit, our center met the 70 quality criterias required to obtain the label.
Quality label
For the Centre du Sein SMN Suisse Romande, being certified represents a guarantee of quality that translates into a personalized senological practice and a diagnostic and therapeutic quality that is recognized at the federal level. In fact, it requires the constant upgrading of all its medical and paramedical specialists, thus allowing the implementation of innovative, less invasive and less painful treatments.
Patients are assured of expert, individualized care and have their case discussed at the Tumor-Board, a weekly multidisciplinary meeting that brings together all the Centre du Sein SMN Suisse Romande's practitioners: gynecologist-senologist, plastic surgeon, oncologist, radiation oncologist, radiologist, psychiatrist, breast cancer nurse, data manager, physiotherapist, etc.
This close collaboration between the various specialists, in a network with the general practitioner/referent, ensures that each patient has privileged access to the most recent treatments and the most effective therapeutic strategies for her pathology.
All outpatient services are covered by compulsory basic insurance, regardless of coverage.

The audit team met a committed and professional team. Organized on two sites, the team members nevertheless share the same values and objectives and know how to take advantage of the individual skills and synergies offered by the multi-site organization. The level of quality and functioning of the center obtained in the space of one year has been especially commended.
Nevertheless, each site retains its own specificities. At the Clinique de Genolier, the quality of the Support Care Center received special attention: the services offered, the layout of the center, and the atmosphere of the place were particularly praised.
