Psychotherapy

In psychology, the focus is on chronic pain disorders and psychosomatic clinical pictures.

What is psychotherapy?

We offer psychotherapeutic support for mental crises with depressive reactions, "burnout", anxiety and panic disorders, and traumatization. In the case of concentration and memory problems, we also offer the assessment of mental performance by means of neuropsychological testing procedures.

Our nervous system as well as our feelings and our sensations are involved in the processing of impressions. Physically felt pain does not always have a precisely defined physical origin. Therefore, we also take into account the patient's mental state during diagnosis and therapy. Psychodiagnostics provides our specialists with important information on how to advise and treat their patients appropriately and in a targeted manner.

Chronic pain

Even purely physical pain can trigger fear and anxiety, drain our strength, and can exhaust our psychological resources. Within the framework of our joint and overall medical diagnosis and therapy concept, patients, therefore, have the opportunity, with professional help, to get to the bottom of the connections between chronic pain and psychosocial stress factors. In this way, previously unnoticed triggers can be localized, and pain management can be improved.

When pain has become chronic, it is often no longer possible to identify clear causes because a pain memory has formed that often responds insufficiently to medication and other forms of medical treatment.

Persistent pain often puts the sufferer under pronounced stress, which can lead to anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders.

Learning relaxation and coping techniques, as well as psychotherapy, can provide relief.
