During the 22nd International Congress of Lymphology (21-25 September 2009, Sydney, Australia) he was appointed European Coordinator of Young Lymphologists and received the Presidential Award in the Research Program "Obesity and Lymphedema: A System of Treatment". During the 23rd International Congress of Lymphology (19-23 September 2011, Malmo, Sweden) he was elected Auditor of the International Society of Lymphology (ISL). During the 24th International Congress of Lymphology (16-20 September 2013, Rome) he was elected Executive Committee Member of the International Society of Lymphology (ISL). He will organise, as President, the 29th International Congress of Lymphology in September 2023 in Turin.

- Since June 2009, member of the European Society of Lymphology (ESL). At the 35th ESL Congress (26-27 June 2009 Paris, France), he was awarded for the best paper entitled 'Obesity and Lymphedema: A System of Treatment', published in the European Journal of Lymphology and Related Problems. At the 36th ESL Congress (14-16 May 2010, Athens, Greece) he was awarded for the best paper entitled "Lymphatic Microsurgery for Primary Prevention of Secondary Lymphedema after Breast Cancer Surgery: A Model of Translational Lymphology".
