A former head of university department and lecturer in neurology, since 2007 Prof. Bogousslavsky has been a guest lecturer in the Master in neurosciences course at the University of Franche-Comté. He is an FMH-certified neurologist, and is the Medical director of the Neurocentre GSMN (Centre for brain and nervous system disorders). He also coordinates neurorehabilitation at the Clinique Valmont, a private rehabilitation clinic.
His reputation allowed him to secure the roles of Secretary-General of the World Federation of Neurology in 2005 and President of the World Stroke Organisation. He has written over 600 scientific articles and around 50 monographs.
He has been a recipient of the prestigious Feinberg Award from the American Heart Association, and is the Editor-in-chief for the scientific journals European Neurology, Frontiers in Neurology and Neuscience and Case Reports in Neurology. Within Europe and America, he has specialised in treatment of strokes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, migraines, cognitive and memory disorders, and conditions affecting the nerves, muscles and spinal cord.
